Hollywood Redux is, as Tenth Doctor Who David Tennant would say, “chuffed” to announce that a new short film, titled Becoming, will soon debut on

Becoming was written and directed by Hollywood Redux head writer, Kathryn D. Moeller. The short marks Katie’s directorial debut.

Katie began writing Becoming in December and principal photography took place in May. Katie relied heavily on the support of her HR cohorts, especially Matthew Bolton (also pictured above), who wore many hats on the project, including serving as director of photography on set and in post, heading editorial.

The short features the work of Luke Casey in production design, Kryzzalia Lopez in the camera department during photography, and she’s responsible for all of the art for the project including the teaser poster, above. Michael Hesser served as sound mixer and designer, and bonus, wrangled looky-loo’s on set like a pro.

Composer Michael Wise contributed original music for the short. In addition to a the haunting score that he wrote, Mike set lyrics by Katie to music for “Petit Ouiseau,” a┬ásong that plays over the end credits.

The short was filmed on location in Los Angeles, and stars local actors, Chris Gouchoe and Katie Mary Garland.

The story is about a couple on a first date and their insecurities.
