About the Movie:
Young alien traveler becomes stranded on Earth and befriends a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Elliott dubs the creature E.T. and introduces him to his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore) and their older brother. E.T. performs miracles with his human friends but falls ill and is eventually taken by force by government officials. ET and Elliott escape their clutches and send ET back to his family, while Elliott finds his place in his own Earth family.
Supposedly, Spielberg based the character on the imaginary friend he created after his parents’ divorce in 1960. In 1980, Spielberg met screenwriter, Mathison, and developed a new story from the stalled sci-fi horror film project Night Skies.
The film was shot from September to December 1981 in California on a budget of US$10.5 million. Unlike many films, Spielberg filmed in chronological order, to facilitate convincing emotional performances from his young cast.
Released by Universal Pictures, E.T was an immediate blockbuster. It surpassed Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time—a record held for eleven years until another Spielberg special effects bonanza, Jurassic Park, surpassed it in 1993.
It wins the 80s box office. Widely regarded as one of Spielberg’s finest, critics similarly hailed it as a timeless story of friendship, putting it atop the list of greatest science fiction film ever made in a Rotten Tomatoes survey. It was re-released in 1985, and then again in 2002 to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with altered shots and additional scenes.
Most films go through several drafts before the final shooting script, but Melissa Mathison’s first draft is what Spielberg used during the shoot of the film. Instead of continuously revising individual drafts, Spielberg presented Mathison with the general narrative plot for her to round out. She wrote for five straight days and then went through with him for feedback. Spielberg later called the finished screenplay “the best first draft I’ve ever read.”

Great for those suffering from insomnia, pain, or lack of appetite, Tahoe OG has made a name for itself among other indicas. A top nighttime strain, it provides an extremely lazy, heavy body sensation. Due to superb breeding, Tahoe OG embodies all of the typical indica effects with an added euphoric, sativa-like kick. This strain features an earthy, lemon taste, and is a phenotype of OG Kush. Maturing at around 10 weeks, Tahoe OG is a must-try for those looking for a great night’s sleep. – Provided by The Strain
