The Nice Guys (2016) Review | The Hollywood Redux Podcast | Russell Crow & Ryan Gosling

The Writers’ Room Podcast Presents | Redux Reviews The Nice Guys

Hollywood Redux had to go to the cinema for the latest Shane Black buddy comedy, The Nice Guys, written by Black and Anthony Bagarozzi. We most love Black for a slew of dark comedy action movies starting with Lethal Weapon, including The Long Kiss Goodnight and stylish Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It stars Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer, Margaret Qualley, Keith David and Kim Basinger. The film premiered on May 15, 2016, at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

Check out our review:

In 1977 Los Angeles private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired muscle Healy (Russell Crowe) team up to solve a missing persons case involving a missing girl named Amelia (Qualley) and apparent suicide of a porn star named Misty Mountains (Telio). Through the investigation, they pull the thread on a conspiracy that goes from the Detroit mob all the way to the Justice Department.

There’s a lot of great humor and it’s a vivid depiction of the Me Decade. Check it out then let us know if we gave you credible intel in the comments section below!
