What video game enthusiast who lived in the 90’s wasn’t dreaming of this moment? In NEW IGL Podcast, players give you the inside track on much anticipated retro gaming console NES Classic. Plus a first look at the NEW Switch to boot.
Launched earlier this fall, the Classic is based upon software emulation and includes a library of 30 built-in games from the licensed NES stable, including the ones you’re saying out loud right now in hopes of revisiting (cough Metroid, cough Dr. Mario).
The Switch is an upcoming hybrid console, scheduled for release in March 2017 worldwide.
The Switch is shaped like a tablet with two detachable controllers on either side, called Joy-Cons, which can be used individually or attached to a grip to provide a traditional gamepad. The main unit connects to a TV display via docking station, but it can removed and used as a portable console as well. Neat that it’s a hybrid, though admittedly Nintendo is marketing the Switch as a home console rather than as a portable.
